Delete account

Who this is for

This page explains how to delete your Tortally online account. You only have an online account if you signed in to publish a showcase. If you never signed in, nothing about you is stored on our server and there is no account to delete.

Delete your account in the app

1. Open Tortally on your phone.
2. Go to Settings and open your online account.
3. Tap Delete account.
4. Confirm with the same sign-in you used before (Apple, Google, or an email code).
5. Read what will be removed, then tap Delete online account.

You will get a deletion request page with a status you can save. Deleting your account does not require an active Pro subscription.

If you cannot use the app

Write to [email protected] from the email address linked to your account, and ask us to delete the account. Put “Delete my account” in the subject. If you signed in with Apple or Google, tell us which one and the email on that account. We may ask you to confirm it is yours before we delete anything. You do not need to reinstall the app.

What is deleted

• Your sign-in and account records.
• Your showcase, its listings and its photos. Your public page is taken offline right away.
• Customer requests you received, with their contact details.
• Related records on our server, such as sessions and consent choices.

How long it takes

• Your public page is taken offline right away. Cached copies are cleared within 24 hours.
• Active data is removed within 24 hours.
• Queued jobs and linked services finish within 7 days.
• Encrypted backups that still hold older data expire within 35 days. They are not used for anything else, and the deletion is applied again if a backup is ever restored.

What we keep

• A minimal deletion record with no recipes or contents, for 90 days after cleanup, so deleted data cannot come back from an old backup.
• A hash (a one-way code) of your published web address, with no email or contact details, so nobody else can take over your old link.
• Records we must keep by law, if any.

What deleting does not do

• It does not delete recipes, ingredients and quotes saved on your phone. To remove them, use Settings, then Delete all data, in the app.
• It does not cancel a subscription. Cancel Pro in the App Store or Google Play first, as explained on the Support page.
• It does not delete analytics events you already sent. To delete them, email us your installation ID.

Delete only a customer request

If you are a customer and want to remove a request, you do not need an account. Use the private receipt you got after sending, or write to us with your request number. See Support.
